Health and wellbeing
Wits is committed to promoting health, wellness and safety around campus.
We make sure your physical, mental and social needs are met so you can achieve your full potential and be the best you can be.
Students are encouraged to take advantage of our career development programme through career counselling/education, psychometric career assessments and personal development workshops, and through the Campus Health and Wellness Centre, staff and students have access to:
- Immediate professional attention for all medical emergencies on campus.
- A daily laboratory service (blood and other specimens may be taken at the time of consultation by a nurse or a doctor).
- An affordable range of rapid tests - pregnancy, HIV, blood sugar tests, etc.
The Disability Rights Unit also ensures that all students with disabilites have equal access to educational opportunities at Wits so they can participate, freely and actively, in all facets of university life.
