This course will enable Oral Hygiene students to explain the microbiology, pathological processes, prevention and treatment of oral infections, to identify the importance of infection control and recognise the need for laboratory investigations.

This course will enable Dentistry students to identify the role of bacteria in the development of oral diseases, describe the methods of prevention and treatment of oral diseases, identify the importance of infection control, evaluate the role of bacteria in the dental diseases and dental practices and assess laboratory results, analyse, present and interpret them

Course Description: Dental Materials for Dental Students I 

This course introduces the science of dental materials to students with little or no dental background. It provides the foundation to chemical and physical properties and the reactions of dental materials.

Course Description: Dental Materials for Dental Students II 

This course provides pre-clinical training for the manipulation of dental materials. It focuses on the basic properties of dental materials and describes reactions of dental materials encountered. The course further enables students to select different materials for clinical use.
