PanAfrican Planetary and Space Science Network project call for bursary applications

Applications are invited from MSc and PhD candidates in the fields of Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space and Planetary Science, Planetary Geology & Remote Sensing.
The PanAfrican Planetary and Space Science Network project (PAPSSN) is accepting online applications via its website for the first round of Intra-Africa Academic Mobility bursaries.
The 1ST PAPSSN Call offers 7 PhD (6 full degree-seeking and one 12-month visit), 6 Masters bursaries for 6 months credit-seeking visits and 5 Staff short-term visit scholarships to any of the partner institutions.
PAPSSN scholarships are jointly administered by five (5) African partner institutions, where selected students and staff will be able to engage in postgraduate studies, research, teaching or training: Botswana International University of Science and Technology, Botswana; Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia; Copperbelt University, Zambia; University of Nigeria Nsukka, Nigeria; University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa.
In order to be eligible for the First Call PAPSSN bursaries, candidates must be African nationals and/or residents, registered or having obtained a degree in one of the Higher Education Institutions that is a member of the PAPSSN consortium.

The PAPSSN aims to create a continent-wide mobility scheme for students, academic and support staff with interests in the Planetary and Space Science disciplines.
The over-arching objective of the PAPSSN is to promote the education of young scientists who will meet the requirements of the current and next-generation large Planetary and Space Science projects in Africa, such as the Square Kilometer Array, and Africa’s need for scientists utilizing Space technology to address Africa’s needs.
