Prof. Nixon Muganda Ochara holds a C2 researcher rating from South Africa's National Research Foundation (NRF). He is a a Research Professor in the School of Management Sciences, University of Venda, South Africa, and a Visiting Associate Professor at the LINK Centre. Ochara holds a PhD (Information Systems) from the University of Cape Town; and both an MBA (Management Information Systems) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Management Science) from the University of Nairobi.

Ochara has previously held academic positions at the University of Pretoria; Namibia University of Science & Technology (NUST); and the University of Nairobi. He has also held visiting academic positions at the University of South Florida; Southern University and A & M College in Louisiana; Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science amd Technology in Kenya; and the Technical University of Kenya.

Ochara's core areas of research focus are digital transformation (e.g., open government, e-Government, ICT policy, e-Commerce), inter-organisational information systems; ICT strategy and infrastructure development; and business analytics. He has supervised several Master's and PhD students.
