Prof Bob Scholes explains how Systems Ecologists view the world.

Last night (21 June 2016) Distinguished Professor Bob Scholes delivered his inaugural lecture entitled "Ecology for a small planet" to a packed audience. 

Prof Scholes started his lecture describing himself as an Ecologist - someone who studies the interactions between organisms and their environment. He further elaborated that he is a Systems Ecologist. But what is the difference between an Ecologist and a Systems Ecologist?
