The School of Electrical and Information Engineering is excited to present our first Virtual Women's Conference! STEM fields have been historically dominated by men, however, in recent years there has been an increase in women applicants, graduates and postgraduate students in these fields. The Women's conference will be an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the dynamic interventions that women are making in STEM. The Conference will host keynote speakers and provide an opportunity for women in undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, and staff members to present their research over a two day virtual conference.
If you are a passionate female student or staff member, this is a great opportunity to share your research or project with the academic community and industry members and win cool prizes.
Date: 5-6 November
Venue: To be confirmed, but likely to be on Microsoft Teams.
Who can participate: All are welcome to attend! All female undergraduate, postgraduate or staff members in STEM fields who are currently developing a project or researching a topic that is related to engineering or can be applied to engineering are invited to submit abstracts and speak at the event.
Prizes: There will be prizes for the technical talk for the undergraduates, and for the postgraduates and staff members. Cool prizes include and Amazon Echo-Dot, a Raspberry Pi and a Drone...
Three audience members will also have a chance to win a prize, but audience members who want to win are required to register.
