Contribution to Academic Programmes

Undergraduate

Bachelor of Education Degree

The division contributes a range of courses to initial teacher education programmes. Electives include:
  • Offering electives in multiple languages as academic majors or sub-majors (subject specialisations
  • Relevant language methodology courses

  • New Language and Literacies for Teachers 
Postgraduate

PGCE

The Postgraduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) is a one-year intensive programme or two-year part-time programme for graduate students who wish to become teachers. Students who wish to become English teachers will select this as their area of focus. Please see the PGCE programme for more details.

BEd Honours and MEd Programmes

The division also offers programmes at the Honours and Masters level including:

PhD in Languages, Literacies and Literatures

PhD programme caters for doctoral students with a range of interests intersecting with language, literacy and literature at either local, national or international levels.
