Christo.Kriel@wits.ac.zaChristo Kriel joined the ADU in 2009 as coordinator of the first-year engineering mathematics support program. He is now a co-coordinator of the mainstream first-year engineering mathematics course and has a PhD in Mathematics and a M. Phil.
Alma Naude
LecturerAlma is a lecturer of mathematics in the ADU. Her qualifications include MSc (NWU), BSc Hons (NWU) and BSc (NWU). Her PhD topic in part focuses on functions that play an important role in many applications in multi-port electrical systems.

Josiah Nyanda

Josiah.Nyanda@wits.ac.zaJosiah Nyanda is the head of the Critical Thinking division in the ADU where he also lectures critical thinking to engineering students. Josiah holds a PhD in English from Wits University. Former teacher and editor, Josiah is also a creative writer. His publications are spread across different academic journals.
Lauren Heller
Lauren Heller is a teaching assistant (TA) in the ADU. She has a passion for education, psychology, and technology and she is a qualified foundation phase teacher, (specialising in psychology). Lauren is currently studying towards her M.Ed.
Mariyeni Matariro
Mariyeni is a PhD in education candidate at Wits. Besides being with ADU as a TA she is also attached to The Hub for Multilingual Education and Literacy (HuMEL) where she manages the Hub’s projects whose main thrust is on bi/multilingualism in South Africa and South African schools.
Bhekumuzi Bhebhe
Bhekumuzi Bhebhe is a 2018 Mandela Rhodes Scholar with a Master’s Degree in International Relations. Bhekumuzi is a critical thinking TA and is pursuing his PhD while being a part of an interdisciplinary research group of scholars focusing on systematic alternatives with regards to climate change.
Femi Eromosele
Femi obtained his PhD in African literature from the University of the Witwatersrand. His research interests include African popular culture and narratives of illness and health. His publications have appeared in the Journal of African Cultural Studies, Journal of Postcolonial Writing, Scrutiny2, Social Dynamics and others.

Kalumba Simba
Head of ChemistryKalumba is a coordinator for chemistry courses within the ADU. He has a good lecturing and teaching experience at tertiary education level. Kalumba is a chemical engineer with valuable industrial and research experience in minerals processing.

Duduzile Modiba
LecturerDuduzile holds a BSc Honours degree in geology, from Wits University, majoring in Economic Geology. She is currently in her second year of PhD, investigating extracting Rare Earth Elements from coal resources at the University of Johannesburg and is currently a Sessional Lecturer for FEBE1000A in the ADU.

Head of SupportI enjoy teaching students about computers, programming and how the skills they learn can change and shape the future. My time in student support and has enabled me not only to share my love of computers with students but I have been privileged to use the same computers to work on data that has shaped student support for the university
Itumeleng Tshwane
Head of Financial SupportItumeleng is a mentoring and coaching enthusiast. She has served in various student support and development structures within Wits University and is currently the head of financial support in ADU. She holds an MSc degree in geosciences and in her spare time, she is either tutoring or mentoring students.
Nthape Mphasha
Nthape Mphasha is an MSc Eng. (Metallurgy & Materials) graduate from Wits University. He has served in various student leadership roles and continues to discharge his skills and prowess to fulfilling students' socio-economic needs as a financial assistance liaison in the ADU.
Nompumelelo Malahlela
Nompumelelo Malahlela is a financial assistance liaison in the ADU. She holds a BSc Eng. (Metallurgy) and currently studying towards an MSc Eng. in the same field. She is passionately involved in STEM-related programs i.e., Annual Science Fair Expos, Engineers Without Borders and SAIMM.
Sandra Maape
Head of Psycho-Social SupportSandra Maape is the head of psycho-social support in the ADU. Her work in the unit is focused on how to creatively assist/inspire students, particularly those who have been disadvantaged somehow, to grow, to become the best versions of themselves and to make a difference in their communities.
Matome Mashatola
Matome Mashatola is a part-time Psychologist at ADU. He holds MA in Community-Based Counselling Psychology from Wits University and is passionate about youth and community development. Matome is also a volunteer in several education development organizations in Gauteng and Eastern Cape.
Desmond Klenam
Head of Postgraduate SupportDesmond Klenam is the postgraduate students’ advisor in the ADU and is currently registered for a PG Dip (Higher Education). He holds a BSc Eng. (Materials) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), an MSc and PhD (Metallurgy and Materials) from Wits University

Head Teaching AssistantTakudzwa Rupere is a head teaching assistant (TA) for Common First Year (CFY) courses in the ADU and lectures mine transportation, automation, and robotics in the School of Mining Engineering. Takudzwa has a BSc Eng. (Mechanical) is currently studying towards an MSc Eng.
Mahlatse Rabothata
Head of Academic SupportMahlatse Rabothata is the Head of Academic Support in the ADU and a lecturer for the Engineering Graphics component of Engineering Design and Analysis IA. He holds a BSc and MSc Eng. (Aeronautical) and is currently enrolled for a PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
Nozuko Makhuvha
Head of Online Teaching SupportNozuko Makhuvha is a Faculty Learning Designer for the faculty of engineering and the built environment. Nozuko holds a BSc in Biological Sciences, with a BSc Honors in Botany as well as an M Ed. specializing in Educational Technology from Wits University.
John Ekoru
John Ekoru is the ADU Technical Administrator for the Engineering Academic Development Unit. He holds a both a BSc and MSc in Mechanical Engineering.He is currently working towards obtaining a PhD in Electrical Engineering.
