Charl Verwey is a paediatric pulmonologist at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital and the head of the division of paediatric pulmonology at Wits. He obtained a PhD examining the long-term pulmonary sequelae of Respiratory syncytial virus on the pulmonary function of children using infant and preschool pulmonary function testing techniques. His special research interests include: HIV-associated lung disease, chronic suppurative lung diseases and the acute infectious lung diseases and their sequelae.
