Dr Mohamed Monareng completed his undergraduate training at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2008. He then completed his Fellowship in Paediatrics in 2016 and has a MMED in Paediatrics from the University of the Witwatersrand that was completed in 2017. He is currently working as a Paediatric consultant at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital in Soweto, Johannesburg and is a lecturer in the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health at the University of the Witwatersrand.
