Clinical Responsibilities

Evaluation, investigation, management and follow-up of patients with pulmonary pathology.

Lung function testing.

Flexible bronchoscopy, including endobronchial ultrasound.

Thoracic ultrasound.

Work-up of patients requiring thoracic surgery and referral to the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital.

Outreach to secondary level hospitals (CMJAH/Bertha Gxowa Hospital; CHBAH/Sebokeng Hospital; HJH/Leratong Hospital).

Outreach to Tshepong Hospital.

Staff at CHBAH and HJH also provide clinical service to General Medicine.
