Description of service profiles and subspecialty units

It is estimated that across our sites (excluding KTHC and TMH), we perform approximately 110,000 anaesthetics per year. This provides our department with an excellent teaching and training opportunity, although at times the lack of infrastructure, equipment and consumables hampers this. The disciplines are discussed more in section d below. There are Domain heads for each special interest discipline who are responsible for training in these fields (figure 4).

The domain heads are also responsible for organisation of Updates, which are teaching meetings held virtual of Saturdays for different teaching areas. Examples are in appendix 1.
