Child Development “The first 1000 days”
The holistic development from birth to 36 month old young child
With the significance placed on the first 1,000 days of a child’s life, understanding typical infant and child development is essential for anyone working with young children, and especially those interventionists, care workers and professionals working with children that have any form of disability, or special needs and barriers to learning. In this course, we discuss different theories and perspective of childhood development and then move on to discussing the different stages of development from birth up until 3 years old.

Early Childhood Intervention
Early intervention positively impacts a child’s life and developmental path, significantly improving outcomes for the children and their families by helping families better meet their children’s needs from an early age and throughout their lives. The course introduces the concept of Early Intervention and looks at the policies and laws in place internationally, implementation in developing nations and the impact on young children with early intervention hearing loss needs.

Basic Conversational South African Sign Language (SASL)
Basic Conversational SASL is a comprehensive and fun course to learn about basic South African Sign Language. In this course, you will be introduced to Deaf culture, basic vocabulary and sentence exercises. You will also gain insight into the skills needed to build your communication relationship with your Deaf family, friend or colleague and the significance of sign language for Deaf people and children.
