Self-Care
We must be kind to our entire being, inclusive of body and mind. The words we say to ourselves (“You look great today!”) and the actions we choose (brushing our teeth, eating healthy, etc.) help us feel good. When we choose unkind words or actions, we are not practicing self-care nor treating ourselves with respect.
It is just as important to care for ourselves through kind words and actions as it is to care for others. Consider what area in your personal life often gets overlooked, whether it is relaxation, hobbies, exercise, personal hygiene, etc. Make a concerted effort to focus some time on this aspect by creating a personal self-care goal; write it down, track it and journal if you can to see if you are indeed making progress to care for self. Also consider, how you can inspire others to prioritize their self-care?
