Transformation and Employment Equity Office

We work with students and staff groups across the University to implement programmes and projects in support of the University's transformation agenda. The transformation agenda is framed by national development goals and equity legislation, as well as the United Nations Millennium Declaration. At the heart of the process of transformation are the values enshrined in the South African Bill of Rights.

Diversity, Ethics and Social Justice

We coordinate diversity, ethics, and social justice projects with stakeholders, investigate discrimination cases, and lead awareness campaigns across the University.

Mediation services for the University community

Wits has a panel of trained and accredited mediators available to assist you in addressing conflicts with individual colleagues, fellow students, and with individual teachers or administrators.

Employment Equity and BEE

The University is committed to the goals of the Employment Equity Act 55 of 1998, enacted inter alia to achieve equity by promoting equal opportunity in employment through the elimination of discrimination.
